The Fit Gals Guide To The Central Coast

You can actually find healthy food on your next road trip.

NSW’s Central Coast is packed with healthy little gems in places you would least expect it. Here are 6 of the best:

1. The Yoga Loft
[Newcastle, beach end of Hunter Street]

This is Newcastle’s only luxury eco hot yoga studio and it comes with stunning ocean views. Yoga Loft has yin classes, power vinyasa, prone vinyasa, hot power vinyasa and meditation classes.

2. Antojitos
[Carrington, Newcastle]

Ok, look, the hand-made corn tortillas aren’t exactly “healthy”, per say, but you can easily ask for a tortilla-less burrito bowl. The Head Chef Eric Flores is from California, and grew up with Mexican culture, so this place is authentic AF. The restaurant does an amazing homemade salsa, fresh horchata and an enticing urban vibe.

3. Wangi Deck Cafe
[Wangi Wangi, Lake Macquarie]

This is a stunning locals-only cafe right on the island of Wangi. We highly recommend that you try the cajun prawn salad with greens, watermelon, feta & mint - YUM.

4. Bella’s Natural Food Co
[Terrigal, Central Coast]

Wagi Deck Cafe2

You have to wade through all the fish & chips shops to find it, but Bella’s Natural Food Co is a breath of fresh air for those of us who like a morning smoothie made with fruit and veg. Bella’s offers about 20 variations of smoothies and smoothie bowls along with fresh salad and simple whole foods.

5. The Yoga Collective
[Terrigal, Central Coast]

This boutique studio offers beginner, intermediate and advanced students a challenging practice located right on Terrigal Beach.

And whatever you do, do not, I repeat DO NOT go to Chop & Grind [Terrigal] for some of the best burgers in the entire world. These are NOT healthy. (But they are really f*cking tasty)
